Feed Ansi! Send him a box of Kex biscuits | Write to Ansi

My name is Ansi Sæmur. I am an Icelandic singer and musician. Some years ago I was the leading voice of a band called Sigur Rós. I was very happy then. But one day, I still do not know why, my bandmates decided to substitute me. They waited till I felt asleep (it happened very often, you know... even on stage) and then took me on a little island. When I woke up I found my xylophone, a huge box of Ikea letter-shaped biscuits and a note saying: "Don't worry. Someone will rescue you, sooner or later." In this picture you see me and the gorgeous Icelandic landscape at my back.

Er... I confess I still ignore where my island is set...

Maybe you won't understand a single word of what I'm singing! That is why I sing in a strange language I invented. It's called Kexlandic. Here is the method I use to write my lyrics.

I take a box of my favourite biscuits: KEX by Ikea.

I spread the content of the box upon my table.

Step One: writing!
I write the lines. Unfortunately Kexlandic has only four letters... This song is called Eik Kaeak.
It's like this: "Eeeeeik kaaaaeak... eeeeea kiiikiii kakakakaka..."

Once I know the words by heart, it's time for Step Two...

Step Two: Breakfast!

Hey! I got mail today! A big and heavy envelope from Italy!
My fan base is expanding even outside Iceland!

Wow! A whole set of new sticks for my Glockenspiel!
My fans are hungry for my music!

I feel inspired today... I start right now! "Ikiiiii.... Aiaiaiaiaak...."

Ops... too much inspiration! I broke the stick!
No problem, there's plenty of them in the envelope!

I broke my stick again...

...and again... and again... and again... and again...

Must be this damned Icelandic weather...
